Looking out from the lounge area we could see deer, hares and birdlife in their natural habitat. Richard, the host, was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. "After returning from our 2 week trip to England and Scotland I would have to say that our 7 days at Richard and Fiona's cottage were the highlight of the trip. From our warm welcome on arrival to the quick response to all our needs (Richard even dropped off some binoculars when we mentioned that we saw some wild hares in the field behind our rental), we were impressed with the service. I would hesitate to even call this a short term rental, it seemed more like a home to us while we were there. The location is a little slice of heaven! We had lazy mornings watching the wildlife out our backdoor, and quiet evenings watching the sunset. Between those hours we explored many castles and villages in the area and put in a lot of steps exploring the beautiful countryside. This was not our first trip to the area, and it won't be our last, but now we know we have a 'home' while we are there. Thank you Richard and Fiona!"

"Modern, quiet and spacious. The Coach House is a large, modern self-contained cottage that is even better in the flesh than the pictures. Upstairs living is spacious and has everything you could need during a stay. They had provided little extras like coffee and milk and some buns and local produce which was a nice touch. The view never ever stopped being fabulous, even in the grey. The downstairs has three super clean modern bedrooms with enormous beds, two ensuites and one family bath. The cottage was super quiet and dark and, apart from some clammy radiators which are being looked at, it was a great place to sleep. The communication with Richard was superb. The location, as a base to see Northumberland, was much easier to get to and from than it looks on a map. It was easy to get around and nice to have the national park on your doorstep inland, as well as all the seaside attractions so close too. The pub was fab. Shame it doesn’t do evening food. But maybe one day. I’d definitely consider booking again. Pretty much faultless. "

We stayed over Christmas and the accommodation was decorated with lovely festive trees and lights. There is a very generous welcome basket. "A Gorgeous Place To Stay In Beautiful Northumberland. We were six women on a weekend away for a 50th Birthday celebration. The Coach House was perfect for us as all the rooms could be made with twin beds, which were extremely comfortable and great for sharing. The accommodation was immaculately clean and sparkly throughout and the lovely, well-sourced kitchen had everything we needed to make a celebratory evening meal as soon as we arrived. It was a really kind and lovely touch that the very friendly property owners, Fiona and Richard, had set up the dining table beautifully for our arrival after I just happened to mention on the phone that we would be celebrating with an evening meal the night we arrived. The views from the property were absolutely stunning and as it snowed the day after we arrived we were more than happy to get cosy under the blankets provided on the sofas and admire the beautiful scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed the stunning location of the property, with the walk to the Ingram Cafe a particularly beautiful walk from the doorstep. The well-stocked garage shop is just a few minutes walk from the property and very handy - perfect when we ran out of some essentials. Also, the pub (The Plough) at the bottom of the drive looked very cosy and atmospheric - we’ll definitely try that out next time, especially as we were told that a Running Fox bakery and restaurant is soon to open in the same location. All six of us are in agreement that the Coach House was a fantastic property and we will return. We had no issues whatsoever and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay from start to finish. Thank you. "An amazing location and a beautiful property. We stayed in the Coach House. The views were great from the open plan living room and kitchen upstairs. The house has everything you need and the beds were very comfortable. They can be made up as doubles or twin beds which is useful. Everything has been done to a very high standard and the hosts, Richard and Fiona were very helpful. There's plenty to do nearby with some lovely walks from the house. We walked to the Ingram Valley and cafe. There's a quirky antiques shop in Powburn we visited too. Overall a great place to stay and visit this beautiful part of the world."

"A perfect cottage in a wonderful location. Fabulous accommodation. The upside down arrangement was perfect for appreciating the stunning views from the lounge area. Clean and comfortable bedrooms, three bathrooms, which was ideal for our party of five. Well equipped kitchen and easy to use appliances. We saw a barn owl, buzzard, hares and roe deer from the windows, lots of different birds and a family of mallards. It's a perfect place for wildlife watching. Richard and Fiona were fantastic hosts, friendly and down to earth. They greeted us on arrival to show us round the property and tell us about the local area, and instantly made us feel welcome. They were also there to say farewell at the end of our stay. We would definitely love to stay here again."

"We have stayed in lots of Air BnB's in the States, Spain and in this country and this is by far the best one we have ever stayed in. The location was stunning with views to die for and peace and quiet oozing from every pore of the building. All the rooms were absolutely pristine and clean and furnished to a very high standard and clearly built by highly skilled professionals. A huge bonus for me was to watch the hares in the field through the picture window with binoculars kindly lent by Richard. Northumberland is a special county and to have a chunk of it outside you window was superb. The setting and the views plus quality furnishings and accessories made this an outstanding place to stay. Added touches like accepting our online shopping and putting it away for us so that when we arrived everything was in place were really appreciated. The views from the lounge window of Hares running and playing plus Oyster Catchers and Deer wandering around made a lasting impression. Location of the cottage is ideal for all the tourist sites in the area and Richard and Fiona are knowledgable enough to offer advice of unusual interesting places to visit. There are plenty of good eating places a short drive away but the coach house also has everything needed to cook if preferred. A highly recommended place to stay."

"The cottage that we stayed in was absolutely immaculate and nothing has been left to chance in terms of information, facilities and just an effort to make sure that while we were there we didn't have to worry about anything other than relaxing. "We stayed in The Coach House and it exceeded our expectations. From the start of our communications, Richard and Fiona were extremely welcoming and friendly. When we got there, our online shopping had arrived and they had put everything away. They are very adaptable and considerate hosts. Richard is ever-ready to help if help is needed. The accommodation is excellent, perfect for a family gathering and the location is great - the coast is a short drive away through beautiful countryside. The star of the show though is the view from the lounge. Absolutely stunning and one which I would never tire of. On a clear night, the night skies are amazing. We stayed in August and saw shooting stars. Fabulous memories. We don't often return to places but we would definitely come back here for all the above reasons, and especially for the peace and quiet."

"Been there with husband and teen boys June 2023. It was just magic!!! Location is calm, gorgeous green fields, cows and sheep in far fields. Stayed at the coach house. We enjoyed the great cottage brand new amenities and the more then wonderful host Richard and son Jonathan who welcomed us and helped us enjoy the whole experience of country side England.
